Overview
Agricultural enterprises today face an important issue: meeting the growing demand for food while adapting to climate change by limiting chemical treatments.
It is a global challenge and an important part of the U.N.'s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which estimates that population numbers will reach 9.8 billion in 2050 and 11.2 billion in 2100, causing overall food production to have to increase by nearly 70 percent. These figures show that agricultural enterprises will need to be able to produce more food more efficiently.
To do this, agricultural enterprises will have to carry out targeted and efficient interventions using tools and strategies that enable them to employ advanced technologies synergistically and interconnectedly, with the aim of making production more efficient and sustainable. We are talking, therefore, about Agriculture 4.0.
Among the 4.0 technologies to be applied in the agricultural field are those that deal precisely with the use of drones and sensors.

How drones can be used
In Agriculture 4.0, UAS allow for a comprehensive diagnosis of crop health, enabling farms to take early action to prevent any critical states.
Data are collected by special multispectral sensors that allow vegetation indices to be derived through functions that correlate the different wavelengths acquired by the sensors. Vegetation indices such as NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and GNDVI (Green Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) are an effective source of information for crop monitoring and analysis.
These new tools provide agricultural enterprises with such important data and information that they can then be used as a decision support system (DSS) in the field, using their resources efficiently.
Why NETF DRONE
We provide our experience and skills in flight missions and Big Data Analytics activities by supporting agricultural enterprises in a sustainable way, carefully analyzing what we detect, with the aim of making the right agronomic choices. All of this makes operations efficient so as to maximize yields and increase ROI (Return of Investment), with great attention to the environment.
With our UAS systems, equipped with state-of-the-art multispectral sensors, we are able to analyze crops affected by possible diseases, nutrient deficiencies, weeds and more. In addition, we make use of the GPS-RTK positioning system that allows us to obtain accurate data with a GSD (Ground Sample Distance) of 1cm/pixel, which is essential for creating reliable prescription maps to be used as input data for fertilization, seeding and irrigation activities with variable rate machinery.
The results obtained will be reported on a report prepared by our experts, such as UAS specialists, data analysts and agronomists, containing a summary of what has been analyzed. In our cloud platform it will be possible to visualize the results obtained, with an exportable, georeferenced and interactive dataset.
